Soudah Development Showcases Sustainability Initiatives at Saudi Green Initiative Forum 2024
Soudah Development, a Public Investment Fund (PIF) company, has announced its participation in the fourth Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) Forum, taking place in Riyadh from December 2 to 13, 2024. The forum coincides with the 16th Conference of the Parties (COP16) under the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).
“The Saudi Green Initiative Forum 2024 is an important opportunity to showcase what Soudah Development has achieved in Soudah Peaks project on the sustainability front, especially in reforestation and the restoration of the region’s biodiversity and natural ecosystem. Soudah Development looks at sustainability as an enabler and as cornerstone for its project design and development process.” Said Eng. Saleh Aloraini, CEO of Soudah Development.
Soudah Development has several programs and initiatives that are aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals in Soudah and parts of Rijal Almaa. The company is committed to planting over one million trees by 2030. In addition, in partnership with the National Center for Wildlife, Soudah Development has reintroduced many ibexes and gazelles into their natural habitat in Soudah and observed several wild births among these animals.
Soudah Peaks will be a luxury mountain destination at an elevation of 3,015 meters, comprising six development zones: Tahlal, Sahab, Sabrah, Red Rock, Jareen, and Rijal. The project will offer new luxury experiences in tourism, hospitality, and entertainment in addition to new residential options with captivating views. It will add thousands of direct and indirect jobs and will add 29 billion Saudi Riyals towards the Kingdom’s cumulative GDP by 2033.
